AVEDA takes an ethical approach aiming to create products that make intelligent use of the planet’s resources, supporting the rights of indigenous peoples, and not conducting animal testing.

styling-aidswebMost of the ingredients used in AVEDA’s products come from the earth. The plants used in the products are those that have been grown sustainable.

The products are botanically based, high performance, and better for our guests and the planet. Throughout the 30-year history, the company has pioneered use of wind energy in the industry and a leader in use of recyclable packaging.

Farming sustainable begins with the soil. In April of 2009, AVEDA became the first beauty company – in the world – and only the second U.S. company, in any industry, to receive a cradle to cradle (c2c) sustainability endorsement.

“Our mission at AVEDA is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At AVEDA, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.”

Connecting beauty, the environment and well-being.

This encompasses the belief that beauty is one that works in harmony with the greater web of life. Since its beginnings in 1978, the company was and is a company with a conscience. Aveda believes science coexists with art – that is why it’s called the art and science of pure flower and plant essences.
